Valentines Day

We have continuous rainfall in the past 5 days due to amihan, the easterlies, tail end of the cold front and low pressure area that brought a stand-still in our geannhomegarden.  For 5 consecutive days, my wife & I stayed indoors while the bush around the farm breeds rapidly.

Today is a fresh shake-the-body-shake event because the great sun shines brightly!  A million thanks to our Lord God.  (Psalm 92:1 “It is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord..”).

I fold up all the window curtains and open the porch door quickly to welcome God’s divine grace into our home – the cool easterly breeze, the awesome scent of flourishing flowers, fruits, and the vivid view of swaying colourful leaves from towering trees, soaring birds and the clear skies.  Good morning Lord God!  Good morning God’s creatures!  Good morning everyone!  (Psalm 92.4 “For thou, Lord hast made me glad through thy work..”)

Carefully, I wake up my wife from her sleep; and help her put on her pullover and booths.  We stroll around the farm slowly.  What’s good walking in the early sunrise is that we were greeted by blooming and colourful flowers, fruits and some vegetables.  The melody tweet from birds scouting for their food shrilled tenderly into our ears.  Sparkling dews on the tips of various leaves of the greens glitters like crystals.  Indeed, it is a wonderful valentine day.

After the Healing Eucharist mass, we have a valentine breakfast of hot coffee, chocolate sticky rice (Sampurado), fried Tinapa, and ripe Papaya fruit.  Home meals deliciously prepared by my wife have a special bond in our hearts every valentine’s day.  Sampurado is one of them.

Fresh home meals open the door for our friendship to flourish until now.  No matter our age to date, friendship will be the flowers in our geannhomegarden of life.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labour.  For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.”

Happy Valentines Day to all.
